Relationship Connections (RC) does not accept insurance simply because we do not believe insurance companies have a right to know about your personal life. As much as this is an inconvenience, we value your privacy more. Please understand that all insurance companies require a diagnosis to approve your claim. Therefore, you could have a mental health diagnosis on your permanent medical record.
After you make your full payment for services, we will provide a therapy invoice (superbill) for you to submit to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement. RC does not know if or what services may be covered by your health insurance or employee benefit plan or if they offer out-of-network services. RC encourages all clients to contact their insurance company and ask the following questions:
Do I have mental health benefits?
Does my plan cover out-of-network providers?
Do my benefits cover marriage counseling?
What is my out-of-network deductible, and has it been met?
How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider?
Will I be reimbursed for payments given to an out-of-network provider?
Where do I send a super bill?
***Discernment Counseling is not covered by insurance. DC sessions are separate Private Pay rates. Dr. Brown will discuss rates during the 15 minute consultation call.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your mental health care will cost
Under the law, mental health care providers need to give clients who don’t have certain types of health care coverage or who are not using certain types of mental health care coverage an estimate of their bill for mental health care items and services before those items or services are provided.
• You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any mental health care items or services upon request or when scheduling such items or services.
• If you schedule a mental health care item or service at least 3 business days in advance, make sure your mental health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 1 business day after scheduling. If you schedule a mental health care item or service at least 10 business days in advance, make sure your mental health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 3 business days after scheduling. You can also ask any mental health care provider for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you do, make sure the mental health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 3 business days after you ask.
• If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more for any provider than your Good Faith Estimate from that provider, you can dispute the bill.
• Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate and the bill.
